Yesterday, 24th October, the exhibition ‘INSCAPE’ by Joana Nenu opens. It can be seen in Visualkorner until Wednesday, 27 November. Inscape visualizes a dreamlike window between the outer world and inner-self. In this world photography is the bridge between the physical realm and the domain of dreams and illusions, each image being a reflection of the subconscious mind. Although this world is filled with limitless imagination, it serves as a reflection of reality itself.
The chromatic intensity, at first enhancing the visual sensation, is inviting us on a quest of creating a more exalted reality by realizing poetry in everyday life. It seems that the human personality can harbour two different worldviews and alternate between them.
While one remains in the shadow (although not forgotten) the other basks in conscious sunlight. Finally, it is not the idea of combining them but to live them simultaneously.
Joana Nenu (b. 1990 in Bucharest, Romania) is a visual artist based in Barcelona, Spain. She studied visual arts and photography in United Kingdom and Romania. Her works appear as dreamlike images in which fiction and reality meet, meanings shift, past and present fuse. Time and memory always play a key role.
By merging different worlds into a new universe, Joana uses a visual vocabulary that amplifies the concept of poetic imagery.
PAINTING AND FINISHING
The images have been printed in our laboratory on Ilford Galerie Prestige Lustre 260gr., an inkjet paper with no texture and a pearl finish. It is an RC paper of excellent quality and instant drying to the touch. The best quality-price option for standard quality prints with a professional finishing.
After that, the images have been added to a 10mm foam. It is a lightweight panel with a core of polyurethane foam and surface layers of coated multilayer paper for creative interior use. The panel offers an optimal ratio between reduced weight and good stability.
